One way is to use a .PDF printer driver. You can then print your schedule/report to the printer and the driver saves it as a .PDF file.

Is there REALLY another way? P3 does not come with a PDF generator of its own!

Yes, you're right, there is no pdf generator in P3. Even newest P6 doesn't have pdf support out-of-the-box. The only way is using 3rd party tools, as Acrobat itself is quite expensive, using free utilities is ok. I'm personally using cutepdf and I'm quite happy with the result.
