Dear Sir : I have some problem using P5 to calculate the completion Variance date between BL Completion date and the Actual Completion Date. I've set and assign my BL to the current project for comparison, but somehow when i want to insert the activity column i can't find the completion date variance column. I manage to get the BL Activity % Comp. and Activity % Comp column One more question, when i update progress my Duration % Comp. is able to show me my ovr project Duration % comp. but after i assigned the project to the BL and in the BL Duration % comp. it show only in the activity row but not overall. Refer to acctached Help! What should i do

Im not sure I can help you with your first question but if I undersatnd your second question correctly, you should be able to (if you are in P6): 1. Right click in activity table 2. Select "group and sort" from the dropdown 3. Under display options, select"show group totals" and you can also show summaries only. I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly, but hopefully this will help. Let me know if this was any help or not. Good luck!

i am using P5 currently, i've tried your method but doesn't really work the attachment that i enclosed notice that there is a column "Target % Completed" i actually rename it from "BL Project Duration % Complete" and my Actual % Completed" is rename from "Project Duration % Complete". I don't doesn't understand why it is not working, thier are the same only different is one is for baseline and the other is for actual. Under my group and sort dialog box i only got Show Grand Tota Show Summary Only By the way i using the WBS to sort and group, i think maybe is the setting problem but then I checked my "user Preference" under "Edit" still i can't the control property or maybe P5 just don't have it Anyway thanks for the help !

What "% complete type" are you using? When you progress, are you using activity%complete, duration%complete, schedule%complete, or physical%complete? I would be worth a shot to check in to that. Good Luck!

i am using duration % complete type coz my program didn't loaded with resources and cost but one more thing, i think the duration % complete only consider the critical path activity duration meaning that it won't calculate the total number of days have completed by all activities only the critical activities duration is taken into consideration when calculate the % complete Thanks for helping, i owe you one
