I have just installed primavera P6. But how can I launch the application? Where is the start application icon? I am attaching screenshot of what i got after the installation. Any help will be welcomed. By the way, I used Local Mode Packages Only as I intend to use server and client side at one computer.

hi. that's the API and not Project Management. use cd #1 instead. you can either go:

- client applications - standalone (client and database on same machine, MS SQL 2005 Express version with some limitations)

or

- have the database server installed (MS SQL, Oracle)
- CD 1 autorun/ other tools/ create database
- then client applications for the client(s) usually on different machine(s).
Oracle installations require Oracle client and Primavera client application linked using an .ora seeding file.
in the case of MS SQL, Project Management itself is the client and you can use aliases to connect to the database(s) using the DB Config wizard during the installation and edit later.

Thanks a lot. It works. The problem was with extraction. I downloaded CDs from ftp server and extracted them to one folder not each cd to different folder.
